December 2018 - Zeutschel to distribute Kurabo large format flatbed scanners

Distribution Agreement - a Win-Win-Situation

Under this agreement, the company from Tübingen will distribute the A0 and A1 models through its international partner network around the world. Kurabo in return will become the exclusive distribution partner for Zeutschel overhead scanners in Japan.

“The new agreement creates a win-win situation for both companies. Zeutschel is expanding its portfolio to include two large format flatbed scanners which are very successful in the Japanese market with over 400 installations. And Kurabo can generate additional business with the systems from the global market leader in overhead scanners”, says Jörg Vogler, CEO of Zeutschel GmbH.

Kenshi Kawano, Director / Exective Officer of Kurabo Industries Ltd. adds: “By agreement, Kurabo is confident that we can offer Kurabo's high-quality and high-performance products to customers around the world and can solve various problems of digitalization. Moreover, Kurabo is convinced that book scanner of Zeutschel can reduce troublesome work and improve work efficiency of Japanese customers.”

Kurabo’s FB 1 and FB 0 are the only large format flatbed scanners on the market to use a high-resolution CCD linear sensor. Thanks to the single sensor, the image can be captured immediately in its entirety without having to be assembled from different images by means of software (stitching). Competitive scanners, on the other hand, are based on scanners with several sensors which can lead to stitching problems.

Both flatbed scanners can achieve the highest optical resolutions of up to 1000 dpi. They have a bi-directional LED lighting system for ideal illumination of the specimen and immediate scanning facility. While the FB 1 can process up to A1 size, the FB 0 offers a scanning area of up to A0 format. Professional image processing software (Aupier-GigaStitch) is available as an option. This permits oversized specimens to be captured digitally. In this process, the software assembles the scanned A0 sections to form a single image. Both large format flatbed scanners from Kurabo are available with immediate effect.

Jörg Vogler: “We see potential customers among service providers, land registries, technical offices and archives as well as in the printing and graphics industries. Typical documents to be scanned include technical drawings, floor plans, maps or site plans.”
