September 2018 - Zeutschel ScanStudio at photokina 2018

What do the diaries of Queen Victoria, the manuscripts of Johann Sebastian Bach or the worldwide first petition for the introduction of votes for women have in common?

All of these unique historical documents were digitalized with Zeutschel high-performance scanners, which enabled them to be preserved for the future and made available to a wider public.

For almost six decades, the Tübingen company has been supporting not only libraries and archives but also businesses with the digitalization of valuable cultural items and business-critical documents.

Having made it big with microfilm systems, Zeutschel has developed itself as a technological trendsetter for so-called overhead scanners.
Books, magazines and bound documents are left open next to them on the presentation table. Scans are made from above without contact, which is a far more prudent and productive way than with typical desktop scanners.

Zeutschel is by far the world market leader in overhead scanners, and its turnover of these products matches that of the market’s numbers 2 and 3 combined. The company, founded in 1961, employs 65 members of staff, and its products and services are represented in more than 100 countries. All Zeutschel products are "Made in Germany". The complete manufacture and entire research and development activities are carried out at the company's headquarters in Tübingen.
Its international success is based on the company’s capacity for innovation and its high demand for quality. Zeutschel scanners set standards for productivity, usage and image quality in their respective areas of application.

The company is now preparing to revolutionize the digitalization of film materials too. In conjunction with PhaseOne, the German scanner specialists have developed a completely new repro system that unites two worlds with each other; the world of studio photography with the world of professional scanners. The result, displayed at the Photokina in Hall 2.1. / Stand B38, will amaze you.

The Zeutschel Scan Studio consists of a camera with digital backs from PhaseOne, Zeutschel interchangeable lenses, a special Ergo LED lighting system as well as various shooting tables. Almost all materials can be digitalized - from movies and slides, through glass negatives to photo prints, and in both standard as well as special formats.

Quote from Joerg Vogler, President of Zeutschel:

“Zeutschel was exhibiting at Photokina for the first time. It was important for us that now professional imaging applications were also included in the trade fair concept. We are hoping for many new contacts from Photokina, for photographic services, digital photo studios and image archives, who want to join us in benefiting from the market potential from the digitalization of analog media.”
