February 2020 - Digital inbox: Integrated large-format and bound documents

Zeutschel at TWENTY2X – Hall 8/D19

Hanover, 17 – 19 March 2020 – Together with Janich & Klass, Zeutschel is presenting a new overall solution for digital inboxes and archive scanning at TWENTY2X. This enables the efficient and high-quality digitalization of individual pages as well as building plans, drawings, construction files, balance sheets and entire file folders. The solution consists of the XINO S700 high-performance scanner and the Zeutschel OS 15000 S overhead scanner. Both scanning systems are controlled by DpuScan software from Janich & Klass. The user can switch between the two scanners while working from a profile. The OS 15000 S scans documents up to a template size of 480 x 360 mm, this is larger than A3. The new scanning solution is available now. For further information, please see http://www.zeutschel.de / https://www.janichklass.com/

“The new scanning solution increases productivity in the digital inbox and archive scanning. Now, individual sheets can be scanned in together with larger, bound or stapled documents all in one operation”, comments Horst Schmeissing, Head of Sales at Zeutschel GmbH.

DpuScan control center
Both scanners are operated via the DpuScan scanning software. A pre-defined profile contains XINO S700 and OS 15000 S as selection menu. For example, the individual sheets can be digitalized in batches firstly using the high-performance scanner. If the larger formats or bound documents come up next, the user changes to the overhead scanner via the selection menu and carries out the scanning jobs there. Once these have been completed, the user can return to the high-performance scanner and process the remainder of the batch.

Thus, users can deposit all documents of a scanning project in an electronic directory in a consistent workflow on a continuous basis. The time-consuming post-processing of the batch of documents at another scanning workstation including the resorting of the sequence is avoided. The insertion or replacement of a place-holder paper is also unnecessary.

Scanning in highest performance and image quality
The Zeutschel OS 15000 S features a scanning unit located above the document support surface, the scan is carried out from above. Thanks to this overhead scanning technology, the bound documents can be placed on the template surface opened. It is easy to turn the page for the next scan.

The overhead scanner supplies images with very good color rendering and high depth of field. A high scanning speed and the intelligent operating software ensure a high level of work productivity. Through the OS 15000 S, optimal results can be obtained right from the first scan. Interfering elements like paper clips or perforations are automatically deleted from the image and crooked pages are straightened out.

Besides the OS 15000 and OS 15000 series, the A2 and A1 scanner from the OS 12000 series can now also be applied in the inbox and archiving solution.
The XINO S700 high-performance scanner is available in three performance classes: up to 130 sheets per minute (XINO S713), up to 170 sheets per minute (XINO S717) or up to 220 sheets per minute (XINO S722). The camera developed for the scanner offers an optical resolution of
600 ppi as standard. A latest- generation LED illumination system is used for optimal illumination of the documents. The XINO S700 can be operated easily using the Color Touch operating panel. It is also height-adjustable via motor controls, which enables a high degree of comfort for the operating personnel The variable feeder system allows for operation using filling either in the middle or at the left. Thanks to the sophisticated ultrasound system, double page feeds are safely and reliably detected.
