Zeutschel zeta: Greater data mobility, greater ease of use, greater integration possibilities Zeutschel at the CeBIT 2014 – Hall 3 / Booth H17

Tübingen, January 2014 – Zeutschel presents the scanning system zeta at the CeBIT 2014. The claim remains the same: "Copying was yesterday, zeta is today", functionality has been expanded. For instance, documents digitised by zeta can be directly uploaded to the user's own Dropbox account and not only is the user able to create graphic files in the process but searchable PDFs too. Closely aligned with the touchscreen operation of modern tablet PCs and Smartphones, the user interface is now also available in 28 languages, including Arabic, Chinese and Farsi. Advancements have also been made in integration with accounting and print management systems as well as in terms of energy savings.

"Dropbox is used by more than 200 million users worldwide, including more than four million corporate customers. From now on, zeta users can store their digital data in Dropbox without having to go through another terminal device. This saves time and increases data mobility", says Jörg Vogler, Managing Director of Zeutschel GmbH.

Scan-to-Cloud with OCR

The Scan-to-Cloud function allows you access to your digitised data anytime and anywhere. Whether at home, at the airport or visiting a client – scanned documents can be retrieved by PC, MAC, Tablet PC or Smartphone anytime.

Zeutschel zeta supports JPEG, PDF, multi-page PDF and TIFF, multi-page TIFF and highly compressed PDFs (iHQC). The zeta operating software can also perform optical character recognition of scanned documents, thereby rendering them searchable. The OCR option now also applies to emailing and storage on a network or USB stick still remains the same.

OCR recognition is either performed on a local machine or is offered as a server-based application.

More intuitive, easier to connect and more environmentally friendly

Operation is already simple thanks to the touchscreen and has been enhanced through the addition of a two-finger zoom. Images can be enlarged or made smaller in scan view and the shopping basket by using the two-finger gesture.

Integration of the Zeutschel overhead scanner into complete output solutions has also become even easier. For example, zeta now works with more than 40 accounting systems from a variety of different providers. In addition, a large number of print management systems are supported, such as Q-Pilot, smart.PAGE, INPAS or Equitrac.

zeta offers greater saving potential in terms of energy and paper consumption. The scanning system has a new sleep mode, wakes-up at lightning-fast speed and can also be shut down at a defined time, for example, at the end of a library's opening hours. Duplex copies can now also be made using a "direct input" mode.

About Zeutschel zeta

Instead of copying and filing bound documents, they are digitised using Zeutschel's zeta scanning system. The files, books or magazines are simply opened and scanned from above. The integrated Perfect Book software removes undesirable elements such as the lever arch mechanism and automatically rotates crooked documents into portrait style. The scans can be electronically processed immediately – whether stored on a USB stick, sent as an e-mail attachment or uploaded to the Cloud. The device is operated intuitively using the attached touchscreen and the stylish design sets new standards for office equipment.
