Zeutschel zeta on the road to success

More and more office users are being won over by overhead scanners

_DSC9800"We are expecting sales for the whole of 2013 to be at 1,200 units, which follows on from the 800 of last year", says Horst Schmeissing, Head of Domestic Sales at Zeutschel. The number of installations taking place outside the classic target group of libraries and archives is constantly on the increase, a fact the Sales Manager particularly finds welcoming.

Horst Schmeissing: "The Zeutschel zeta has managed to gain a foothold in the office environment". A recently closed distribution agreement with Kyocera Document Solutions will give an additional boost.

More and more users from a wide variety of different industries are benefiting from the advantages of overhead scanning in the field of office applications. Using the Zeutschel zeta, files, binders, contracts or magazines are simply opened and scanned from above.

Placed on the Boardroom Floor
The Stadtsparkasse Schwelm uses the Zeutschel scanning system in the administration's copying department. Eyeleted contracts, bound balance sheets, magazines and many other items are digitised. The responsible parties at the bank felt it was important to have something simple to use and that produced a high quality scan. The combination of intuitive touchscreen and the picture optimisation software "Perfect Book" certainly makes sure of this.

In the case of documents with eyelets laid across the scanner, the software automatically rotates the image into portrait style and removes the finger holding the document from the scan result.

The design of the overhead scanner is so stylish that plans are underway to have it placed on the boardroom floor. On prominent display through the large glass panes, it will be a real eye-catching feature. Then, one of its duties will be to scan a portion of the incoming post.
A major university hospital in the German-speaking world uses the zeta Comfort to digitise its lab books and to then back-up the electronic data onto a server. All research results are logged into the lab books by hand. Major scientific and financial losses for the laboratories would ensue if such information is lost. Requirements for digital reproduction are equally as high. The handwritten records need to be clearly and easily legible in the digital copy. Easy to use, the Zeutschel zeta also meets this requirement, too. With the help of the touchscreen, the user is able to achieve the desired result simply by following a few, logically-structured steps.

There are a number of reference users, for example, a specialist construction company Möbius. The company creates engineering documentation via the overhead scanner. A law firm in Frankfurt am Main also uses the Zeutschel zeta to scan court records and notarial deeds for archiving purposes and to communicate electronically with the courts and authorities.
"Copying without paper, ink and toner - this saves printing costs and significantly improves the CO2 balance. These are persuasive arguments and will further boost the demand from the entire office environment", says Horst Schmeissing confidently.

Strong Partnership
He also sees new stimulus for growth through the distribution partnership with Kyocera Document Solutions, a subsidiary of the Japanese Kyocera group. The company markets and sells three Zeutschel models, including the overhead scanner zeta. Together they are presenting zeta at the "channel trends+visions 2013", one of the largest trade shows for information technology and telecommunication in Germany, organised by ALSO Deutschland GmbH.
Zeutschel is also taking part in the Evolution Tour 2013 by Kyocera Document Solutions and reveals zeta as an important component in future solutions for Managed Print Services. An appearance at the IM-TOP 2013, the distribution tradeshow by Ingram Micro which takes place at the end of June in Munich, is also another joint project in the pipeline. "The market has responded to the partnership with Kyocera Document Solutions in an extremely positive way and I am convinced that this will bear fruit very soon", says Horst Schmeissing.
