FotoHub, one of the most important digitization service providers in the Asian region and based in Singapore, is the first user in the world to deploy Zeutschel ScanStudio as an all-in-one solution for digitizing library stocks.
Transparent originals such as film, slides and glass negatives constitute one of the areas which the scanning work is focusing on. The central criterion behind the purchase decision was the combination of high quality and productivity. For example, the system meets the highest levels of international norms and standards for image quality – among them FADGI 4star and Metamorfoze (full) – while at the same time facilitating efficient processing. The first results have already been obtained from projects.

As a consequence, FotoHub has almost completely shifted the digitization of its transparent originals to the Zeutschel system. In addition, the service provider is using the solution to scan historical and rare books, manuscripts as well as large-format prints and documents up to A2 format. Thanks to the positive results, the purchase of further ScanStudio systems is planned.
Zeutschel ScanStudio
Zeutschel ScanStudio was developed as a universally usable solution for digitizing cultural objects. The system can be used to electronically record a wide range of materials in libraries, archives and museums – from stamps and coins, films and glass negatives to books and large-format documents.
It is made up of a camera and interchangeable lenses, both from Zeutschel, and a digital camera back from PhaseOne with two resolution options, 50 and 100 megapixels. Further components consist of lighting that protects the originals with two adjustable LED lamps, scanning tables, fixtures and book cradles as well as the Zeutschel OmniScan software for controlling the equipment.
