zeta2mobile privacy policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application zeta2mobile (“application”) for mobile devices that was created by Zeutschel GmbH. This document is valid from the 19th of May, 2015 until a newer version is published. The application is a scanning station client which serves to interact with Zeutschel Zeta scanning stations that are exposing a corresponding server service via wireless LAN. The application’s main functions are to export scans into the memory of your hand held device and to keep your scan settings in your device for future use.

Data collection. The application obtains the scan settings you provide when you type them in using the application’s menu. No registration with us is needed or even possible.

In addition, the application may collect scan settings automatically when you alter them at the scanning station. Apart from that, the application does not collect any other information, neither of your mobile device ID, mobile IP addresses or wireless LAN configurations.

This application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Data exchange. No data is transmitted to neither our company nor external services. Data is only exchanged between the scanning station and the application. We will not share any of your information with third parties.

Opt-out. You can always stop or uninstall the application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Children. We do not use the application to solicit data from or market to anybody. This is also true for children under the age of 13.

Security. Your scans and settings will be transmitted using standard web technologies. Unless the wireless LAN that the scanning station you are connecting to is available in is properly secured, everybody with sufficient knowledge will be able to receive a copy of all of the data you send or retrieve. If you are in a public location or do not know about the encryption state of the wireless LAN the scanning station is available in, consider it as vulnerable and do not use the application to transfer sensitive information. Please note that the wireless LAN the scanning station is in may be different from the one that you have been connected to beforehand since the application will change the wireless LAN connection if necessary.

To connect to the scanning station by capturing a QR code the application falls back to a matching QR code reader app on your mobile device which is out of the scope of this privacy policy. If you feel uncomfortable with this behaviour, you have the option to connect manually from the application’s menu.

Changes. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here. If the changes imply a relaxation of data privacy, an opt-in process will be put into place inside the application. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your consent. By using the application, you are consenting to our treatment of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. All of our activities will take place under German privacy standards.

Contact us. If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the application, or have questions about our practices, please contact us via email at info@zeutschel.de.
